While I was at Michigan state, I helped organize and run the Darwin Day Roadshow, bringing scientists into K-12 classrooms across the US. Last year, one of the high schools we visited was in Austin, TX. As part of the program, I found local scientists to come speak to local schools. Anne Chambers, a grad student at UT Austin, was one of the volunteer speakers from last year.
I was so excited to see that UT Austin scientists have gone back to the school to speak to students again this year! This is exactly the kind of relationship we want to build between schools and scientists!
