Over the last semester, I have been working with senior high school student Danica Belingon from Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. We have been focused on blending computer science and research! Danica built custom Python code to run a piece of lab equipment that measures the angle of a gecko’s toe detachment.

Our work was recently featured in a MUW press release!

It has been really fun watching Danica develop her coding skills and discussion the details of how the equipment should operate. Danica will be starting at MUW in the fall, and I’m excited to continue working with her!
