The SICB conference (Society for Integrative Comparative Biology) was a busy one this year! Working with Dr. Burnes, we brought five MUW students with us to Atlanta. MUW students Cain Petty, Zarin Raya, and Billy Hufton all presented posters, and Ethan Wilkins and Mollie Lyons attended just for fun. Cain’s poster covered our current project investigating the affect of formalin and ethanol preservation on the shape of lizard toe pads. I also volunteered as a mentor for a series of events at the conference including acting as a division of vertebrate morphology mentor, and the Meeting of Minds speed-mentoring event. I was also paired with multiple other attending faculty from PUI’s bringing undergraduates to the conference.
